SOMA Story Slam

Celebrate the achievements of college-bound high school seniors in our community.

Co-hosted by the Maplewood Memorial Library and CTK College Coach, the third annual SOMA Story Slam celebrates graduating high school seniors as they transition to college. Are you a senior and proud of your college admissions essay? Now's your chance to bask in glory and inspire younger students at the same time!

Christina Taber-Kewene, Rachel Fisher, and Stephanie Nasteff-Pilato, the essay writing coaches from CTK College Coach will provide a brief introduction on how to write the college essay, and then selected seniors will read their college essays for the community. High school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and parents are especially encouraged to attend and cheer on these scholars.

After the essay readings, there will be a Q&A portion where the audience can ask for college application tips from the experts at CTK College Coach

This event is free and open to the public.

To submit an essay for consideration, complete the form linked here by Thursday, May 15, 2025.

If you only want to attend the event and not read an essay, please register here.
