For kids, tweens, and teens ages 8 -12 and up.  Space is limited to the first 25 students to arrive.   In the Children's Program Room.

Create a story for a 1-page comic!   Using his comics from the recent anthology Let’s Go! as a reference, local comics-maker Jeff Larkin will lead participants ages 8-12+ through plotting a short comic of their own.  Focusing on storytelling, this fun workshop is for kids who like to write, draw, or do both!  Limited to 25 students ... please arrive early to ensure a space!

The Global Day of Unplugging is a community-wide invitation to step away from screens and step back into community life.  In collaboration with SOMSD, Team Unscreen, South Orange Public Library, Oh! Canary, and the Player Agency at the Baird Center,  SOMA families are encouraged to put away their devices, gather in person, and choose purposeful connection.   Global Day of Unplugging is a simple reset: one weekend where we practice gathering offline, on purpose.
