A Maplewood Ideas Festival event: Meet former Olympian, track and field hero Hazel Clark, and celebrate her new book! For all ages.

The Maplewood Ideas Festival celebrates Hazel Clark Day and Ms. Clark's new picturebook Hazel Takes the First Step (available for sale at the event)!

Inspirational fun for runners, sports fans, and people of all ages!

Meet 3-time Olympian and Columbia High School alum Hazel Clark on March 12 at 4 pm as she reads her new children’s book, Hazel Takes the First Step.  A University of Florida Hall of Famer and recent TEDx speaker, Hazel will share her inspiring story of perseverance, followed by a book signing.

Local celebrity Hazel Clark is a former Olympian and middle-distance runner who specialized in the 800 meters middle distance race. Hazel was a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 2000, 2004 and 2008.   She has won six national titles and two USA Olympic Trials events during her career.
