Prompt & Polish: A Guided Creative Writing Workshop is a 90-minute weekly class throughout October. Writers will respond to fun, rapid-fire prompts to quiet their inner critics. The group will share fresh drafts, offer kind feedback, and build a steady creative habit in a warm, supportive space. The workshop is designed to help participants finish new drafts, break through mental blocks, and find joy in the messy first stages of creative writing.
Paper or notebooks are encouraged for free-flowing thought, but those who prefer laptops are welcome to bring them.
In order to ensure everyone is able to share their work, each workshop will have a maximum of 8 participants.
Carla Cantor, who will lead the workshop, is a freelance health and medical writer with a special focus on mental health. She has called Maplewood home for more than 30 years.
